Well done on this competition. You guys deserve the additions you'll get for it--the reporting has really gone to the next level!
I'm a fan because I grew up in New England, and when a team came to New England I knew it was going to be mine. I hardly claim to be the biggest fan; but any honor I have comes from mere dogged longevity through some years of crummy and excellent soccer games. I remember the days of watching Imad Baba, Edwin Gorter, and Ted Chronopoulos, wondering whether Johnny Torres or Jamar (!) Beasley would bring a spark off the bench. (And no, I didn't have to look up any of those names.) I remember how excited I was to discover that Walter Zenga, a hero of the 1990 World Cup, would be in the New England nets. And I recall living in England and waking up in the morning and loading up the highlights of the previous night's match on mlssoccer.com, covering up key parts of the screen with my hands so it wouldn't give away the score before I got to see it. (I saw Twellman's playoff bike against Chicago that way, and it was glorious!) I remember when rumors of a stadium were plausible. I find I care less and less about what happens in MLS more generally, but I still enjoy watching the Revs.
I have seen the Revolution in Chicago several times when I lived there (including one of Andrew Farrell's first matches). But never in Gillette--I never lived close enough. I figured maybe I'd make a point to go once the SSS finally was built (not much of a commitment, I know).
But wouldn't it be something to see them line up against Messi?
For the record, I would definitely offer to bring my mother, the greatest sports fan I know. She'll have a sharp word or two for any errant passes! Can't promise she'll support the home team though...
I'm a fan because I've always been a fan; they're just my team. I grew up going to games with my dad since 1996, now I'm bringing my kids. It is my duty as a father and soccer fan to pass on the generational trauma of Revs fandom
I've always enjoyed soccer (my team won the championship when I was in 7th grade) but I never followed it professionally. About 10 years ago I began following hurling and Gaelic football (Irish sports) and that evolved into also following soccer, MLS and international. I enjoy following the Revs because it's almost like a secret club...anyone can follow the Pats, Celtics, Bruins, and Red Sox but to follow and know the Revs is a different level of fandom. The Revs bum me out week after week, year after year but I still support them like I did the pre-2004 Red Sox!
I was 8 years old when the Revs started playing. I followed the Revs as my first ever soccer team before I knew about teams from Europe. The old foxboro stadium was just 20 miles from my house and 4 exits up the highway. I was there in 96 on a youth soccer ticket and remember seeing The Fort and thinking that is where I want to be. For the next 15 years after that I would go to 3 or 4 games a year and would follow the team on TV. I remember the heart break of the Carlos Ruiz goal in 2002. In 2012 I got season tickets for the first time and I haven't looked back. I have met some of my best friends tailgating in the parking lot and have met so many amazing people throughout the years. This is my team and through the ups and downs over the past 28 years I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm a revs fan because of the family the club, players, and fans have created. I've brought my family into the the Fandom and will always be appreciate of the memories we have made because of this club.
Season ticket holder for 5 or 6 years. Have loved watching the team most of that time but this year is very difficult! Don't know where to direct my anger, to the players, coach, front office or Kraft? I miss leaving Gillette on cloud 9 after a well earned win!
This was me 13 years ago: https://tinyurl.com/2ec4532n
Still need tickets 13 years later! I've followed the team to Tucson and back, they'll always be my favorite because I've grown up with them.
Because the Revs have broken my heart so many times since 2002, it feels like they owe me!
I only subscribe to tell Seth and Jake to get on Bluesky
I am a fan of the Revs because [ask me after today's match]
I am a fan because soccer is my 13 yr old son’s passion. When we go to a game I love hearing his recap of what the team did well or could do better.

Revs fan just over a year old - moved to Cambridge, MA in March 2023!
I'm a fan because I am a glutton for punishment. That and I love this team and so desperately want them to succeed

Because they are the local team and one day want to see them win mls cup, or dare I say leagues cup too
I’m a Revs fan because I like supporting my local team!
Because I have low self-esteem and I don’t think I deserve to support a better club
