This was a great discussion, and I 100% agree with Moises’s thoughts on Porter. If we don’t at least give him a whole season or two to put a real squad of his choosing together and build a team that can play his model, that wouldn’t be fair to him and it wouldn’t be fair to any of the players either.
It sucks because I’m just as impatient as the next guy for us to start winning and turn this season around, but I also understand that it takes time to go through a rebuild. It didn’t feel like that’s what we were doing going into this season, but that is really what is happening in reality and we haven’t really had any Porter signings at all.
There have been issues with our team for a while and if they give Porter the reigns to address those issues, I’ll happily take a bad season to come in hot next year. If that doesn’t happen, THEN I’ll be hoping for a new coach.
