It seems insane to me that they aren't going for a capacity matching attendance at a good game now. There's zero room for growth and eventually it will kill the atmosphere when the league gets more popular and the plastic casuals price out supporters.
Unpopular opinion: putting a smaller stadium in a place with limited parking is not going to be the boon most people think it will be.
Everyone (outside of comments here) that I’ve talked to feels similar. I would LOVE a soccer specific stadium.
I just don’t want it in Everett.
Whether in Everett or elsewhere, capacity needs to be 30k minimum. We're drawing that much at Gillette.

It’s all about ticket prices and raising the value of a ticket.
Decrease ticket supply in a small stadium, raise the ticket prices…
increase the amount of large scale events at Gillette with the new available time slots…
host new events in Everett during available days.
It’s a cash grab for sure.
The Everett site will be the pits.
Forgive my ignorance of Mass municipal politics, but if the City of Everett is on board, how is Boston blocking the deal? That's been unclear to me.
