I will buy a round for the Blazing Musket staff the next time we meet up in this stadium.

If you are currently getting over 25,000 people at a match, why would you build a stadium that only holds 25,000? Financially, how does this make sense? Are they going to build lots of $$$ suites that will take up space and be cost prohibitive for most people?

Decreasing the stadium size would increase the scarcity of tickets which would lead to a rise in the ticket prices.

Goodbye affordable family friendly games.

Grrrr, good point.

And, where would the training center be?

Training center wouldn’t move. Hopefully, unions would agree, the stadium is expandable if there is demand for tickets. Also, Foxboro would remain an option for special events and “big” games.

Would a site plan review allow for that, or would you have to go through the permitting process all over again?

The specifics of an expansion process I couldn’t begin to even guess. I know that Toronto expanded their original stadium and that has been an aspect in planning other MLS stadiums.

It makes sense that longtime supporters are satisfied with Foxboro. By definition, Foxboro has not been a barrier.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. You’re currently averaging 30k a game in Foxboro. That’s 30k fans that make the trip and enjoy the game. Push the team more, fix the player woes (decrease those long term contacts and get depth)… start winning more. That’ll put butts in seats. The Pats did it, look at early 90s to what happened with the Tuna and Bledsoe… people started coming because we had a team worth.

Moving the play is a risk for those 30k fans. Also if you decrease the size of the stadium to approx 30-40 you’re limiting yourself greatly. Messi in town showed having the leg room is valuable. Anything under 45k to grow into would be a waste.

The problem with Everett or other areas that have been floated… terrible transit, parking and prices for anything in the areas.

Sticking in the Foxboro adjacent area is a smarter move.

I don't actually mean to argue for staying in Foxboro. I think I'd prefer the city. But it can no longer be argued that 30k in Foxboro is impossible.

I'd be happy to stay at the Razor if it only had a grass playing surface. Also, any new stadium for the Revs needs a *minimum* capacity of 30k--we're averaging about that now at Gillette.

Great news! Too bad Carles might not be around to christen it...

Im all for a soccer specific stadium but I really don’t want it in the city. I’d so much rather it be near Foxboro. Plus it’ll be a challenge for families in RI/ Providence more than it is now.

I love tailgating the games etc. but if it moves to an area with a garage or other, we may lose this privilege too.

I guess there’s no such thing as a climate emergency, so, yeah, no approval needed for this gargantuan undertaking, Massachusetts.

What’s a little CO2 rise between corporate soccer friends?
