Interesting narrative from Porter as always. Their build up play created two shots, 32nd and 56th minutes.

The other 9 shots came from going route 1, counter attacking, forced turnovers, corners not from build up play and a long pass from Gil.

Let's not get all giddy about a win over a team that was clearly struggling.

I dunno I don’t think we are improving at whatever Porter wants to do. I’m not sure anyone in the organization knows what he wants beyond a vague idea to “turn possession into goals” with no further tactical wrinkles explaining how to move off the ball and progress upfield with that possession. Chancalay’s great strike isn’t created from Porter’s possession patterns, whatever they actually are. We only looked better when we started to not do what Porter says he wants and we started to play in transition. Chicago is the worst run team in the league and if we play like this against anyone else we would have been down by 3 in the first half. This performance against the most incompetent organization in the league is very underwhelming.

The attack is still anemic. Even if they master building out of the back it will be pointless if it doesn't result in more goal scoring opportunities. I'll wait and see how it works out rather than getting too excited about a win against an equally crappy team.
