Am I the only Revs fan who is really happy with this switch? I’m not sure what the climate is like in the winter in other parts of the world but they do this in England, Germany, Norway and it’s fine. People already do it to watch American football. I know mls is not the nfl but the fans who want to go are going to go. And honestly I avoid going to games from June to mid August bc it’s so uncomfortably hot. They could do games at 4pm instead of 7 pm, they can limit home games in the winter in cold places like the article says..I don’t see the problem. I fully agree with every word Nancy said about it.
These are all good points. I think people would still go to games in the winter but I also wouldn't be surprised if we see attendance figures drop in November/December/February for cold weather teams. For a league as dependent on in-person ticket sales as MLS, anything that dissuades fans from showing up is a tough sell.
I haven't seen anything other than a halfhearted commitment to cold weather teams having a warm-month heavy home schedule. I'm not sure if other solutions were discussed.

Was there not talk of holding colder weather games in more warmer climates?
