"I think it's a lack of respect, and especially when Carles [Gil] is in on a break for us to score what I would believe to be the game-winning goal,” Wishful thinking since the Revs botched several other similar chances. No reason to think they would have scored on this one either.

Pay the refs and send these clowns packing. Gil does get fouled a lot but there a lot of times if an opponent gets does make a good clean play and get the ball from from him he will fall to the ground and sit there and wave to the ref. That may be the reason why some calls are not called that should be and he is targeted.

I think the biggest thing that the replacements are missing is the use of persistent fouling as a tactic. This i ref seemed to have a handle on it in the first half, but let go of the rope when the intensity ramped up down the stretch.

I think he has a valid point and it is effecting all teams. The replacement refs dont seem to have the respect of the players from the first whistle and as games go on it just gets worse. The error in the SKC Philly game was egregious, the inconsistantancy in the calls, the amounts of extra time it is all just not making MLS look good. I know that usual refs are not controversy free ( otherwise Andrew Weibe would not be hosting Instant Replay) but the types of issues pale in comparison to what is happening now. Pay the refs and improve the product on the field.
