VGFC News: Gabe Threadgold Returns, Giorgio Probo Heads North
“Giorgio is a classic midfielder who is unique because he is equally skilled as an attacking midfielder or a holding midfielder."
Vermont Green FC added to their roster while also witnessing a player from last year’s squad sign a professional contract.
The club announced that Gabe Threadgold will be returning to The Green in 2024. Threadgold is coming off his Redshirt Junior season with the Washington Huskies that saw him play in all 18 matches and tally an assist.
Fans of The Green also saw Giorgio Probo sign with the Halifax Wanderes of the Canadian Premier League.
“Giorgio is a classic midfielder who is unique because he is equally skilled as an attacking midfielder or a holding midfielder,” Wanderers head coach Patrice Gheisar said. “We have many skilled players who can break lines on the dribble, but he can deliver line-breaking passes. He has a deep passing range, is effective on free kicks and has a high-level background in the sport.”
Probo is a product of the Atalanta Academy and racked up 22 assists and scored five goals in his collegiate career with Creighton University.
