Vermont Green FC Signs UCONN Midfielder, Former Player Scores In U.S. Open Cup
The midfielder played high school soccer in the Green Mountain State.
Vermont Green FC has signed a midfielder who is quite familiar with the Green Mountain State as Ayoub Lajhar will be spending the summer in Burlington.
The Libyan international played high school soccer in Vermont before heading to UCONN to play collegiately. As a freshman, the midfielder made 16 appearances and tallied a goal and three assists.
Fans of The Green also got to witness one of their former players score for his professional side in the U.S. Open Cup. After making his pro debut this past weekend, Nathan Messer tallied his first goal for Rhode Island FC in the club’s U.S. Open Cup match against the Charlotte Independence on Tuesday.
