John, I’ve really enjoyed your writing this year regarding the team. As a STM, my two adult son’s and I walked away from last night’s match stunned at the first half tactics. The management of this team doesn’t deserve the support we continue to give it at this point match after match. I’ve never had a difficult time giving away tickets to the Revs until this year. Even my friends who are casual fans realize that the stubborn coach we have has caused this team to become a dumpster fire. The match away on Wednesday and last night at home seals his fate. The owner needs to overhaul the front office and release this coach. There is no other option. Porter Out! There is still time to see what another coach can get out of these players this season. Ownership must no longer be silent on this.
This is the kind of team you get from a do-nothing ownership group, as the article states well. The Krafts got in early, helped out in the beginning of MLS, and then have sat back and raked in expansion fee cuts as they have said nothing, done nothing other than a nice practice facility. Why keep asking the Krafts to take some action? They are the problem, and you don’t ask a repeat offender to change. No stadium, no coach, no offense, but at the core of the crisis, no owners. Good fans though, and great Blazing Musket.
When attendance starts to drop off then maybe something will get done. Hit them in the pocketbook then they wake up. This season is another wash out. They have the players but not the coach to coach to coach them. They are going nowhere this season so flush the Porter Potty and put someone else in to try to salvage something out of the rest of this season.
Curse of Bruce Arena. Revs haven’t been right since Arenagate. Sorry but anyone who pays to see this team is a sucker. Feel bad for the players who are giving their all, especially Carles Gil, but the chemistry just ain’t right. How does a guy like Porter build and win with two championship teams elsewhere and then come here and fail so miserably?
If the supporters groups had any courage we would empty the fort until Porter and Onalfo were gone. Enough is enough. I support the players but we need to make our voices as supporters heard just like other supporters groups in the league have. This is pathetic.
The krafts barely care about the patriots winning. They have gotten lucky with nickel and dime choices. They’re business people and living in the pockets of horrible people and organizations (eh hmm, why do you think there’s constant “red tape” around a revs specific stadium). They are not sports fans, especially soccer. They want sponsorships, ticket sales. To expect anything different from them is jaded imo. It’s never been easy to be a revs fan but it’s certainly been a lot more fun than it is lately.

You know it!

I don't wish for Porter to be unemployed - he may still be a fine college coach. I just don't want him employed here anymore.
Jim Curtin would have this team in the playoffs.

So well said! Season ticket holder since 97. Never been so disappointed in this organization. Porter out! Onalfo out!

It makes you appreciate how good Darlington Nagbe was. He made Porter look a hell of a lot better than he actually is.

Excellent piece. Couldn't have said it better myself.
