Or perhaps training on the turf in the run up to the game. This should be an advantage for us as the home team, not another excuse for poor play.

Is this a Porters excuse to answer for the poor play at home this season?

As longtime supporters know, Gillette first opened featuring a beautiful natural grass field. The grass field was not sustainable due to year-round use by two primary tenants (the Revs and Pats) along with other nonsporting events and the harsh New England weather. If and when the Revs get their own stadium, we should again get a permanent grass field. I wouldn't count on seeing one before that happens. The World Cup will very likely see a grass pitch laid over the turf, as have been installed in the past--that's my guess.

It is my understanding the field will be converted from turf to grass for the World Cup. Will this be a permanent change, or will it revert to turf after the World Cup?
