Rumor: Leeds United Enters the Race for Tajon Buchanan
The EPL side has reportedly "jumped" over Inter Milan, who looked to acquire the Canadian star in the January window.
A new suitor has arisen in the race for former Rev and Canadian superstar Tajon Buchanan.
Interest in the 24-year-old grew around the January transfer window as multiple sources indicated that Italian Serie A clubs had been closely watching him at Brugge. The biggest name was Inter Milan, who were looking for insurance if they moved on from Denzel Dumfries.
According to Canadian Soccer Daily’s Aaron Mathew, the race for Buchanan has “heated up” as English Premier League side Leeds United has "jumped ahead" of Milan.
Leeds attempted to fill the hole at wing with the additions of Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnato, yet neither signing has hit. Gnato has only notched two goals and one assist over 807 minutes, while Sinisterra has only notched two goals over 542 minutes.
Thanks to Italian reporter Raffaele Amato, Revs fans can garner how much a Buchanan move could help the Revs. When Buchanan joined Brugge in August 2021, the deal included a 10% sell-on clause. Amato reports Brugge is looking for twenty-five to thirty million Euros for Buchanan. That translates to approximately $26,735,000 to $32,082,000, which means a cool two or three million dollars could come the Revolution’s way if Brugge can find a move for the Canadian.
As excited as I am about Tajon to Leeds, saying gnonto hasn’t hit really takes any credibility out of the story
