Only high hopes could lead to such disappointment. It was a brutal game—hard to watch. They didn’t resemble the team we saw last match for sure. I hope they learn from it and prep more next season for the change in altitude. All in all though, we saw their potential this season—can’t wait for next season when they actually have a home stadium and know that they can do it.

This feels overly harsh. Sure, mistakes were made and they need to be analyzed, but saying all of the goodwill has been eliminated, c'mon. A brand new team came together over the course of a season, rallied the community and made it to the Championship in their first year. While the championship would have been the cherry on top, I instead say Cheers and well done to the men in gold!

I understand where you're coming from, but I just feel that losing a championship final like this will cast a palpable pall that less-friendly media outlets may harp on, in addition to it likely being detrimental to the team's morale. Frankly, I think this loss actually hurts more than a loss against Charleston or Louisville would have. Ultimately I still had a lot of fun watching the team this year, and am excited to see them play at Tidewater Landing next season.

High hopes lead to big disappointments—we were all hoping RIFC could pull this one off. Can’t wait for the chance to see them win it in-person though!
