Weather: Thunder should push out of the area before Saturday’s game kicks off. Temperature come kickoff will sit at 68° and fall to the mid 60’s throughout the evening. Winds max at 12 miles per hour while the chance of rain starts at 50% before dropping throughout the match.
New England Revolution II:
Richie Willams and Revs II will look to get on track after a difficult result on the road against New York Red Bulls II.
With first-team head coach Caleb Porter deciding to use the Revs’ U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match against the Chicago Fire as a chance for development, most of his regulars were unavailable. Williams tapped into the organization’s youth and featured 12 Revolution Academy prospects in the matchday squad.
After a strong start, things soured toward the end of the first half as Tanner Rosborough found the back of the net in the 37th and 40th minute to propel Red Bulls II to a 2-0 lead at halftime. The second half wasn’t much better as a goal from Mijhar Jimenez in the 66th minute increased New York’s lead to three.
A real highlight came in the 77th minute when substitute Enzo Gonçalves got onto a loose ball and drove straight to goal before slotting the ball past Aidan Stokes to reduce the deficit and score his first goal on his professional debut.
If the game wasn’t sealed already, Copeland Berkley’s 86th-minute strike did as New York Red Bulls II walked away with all three points following a 4-1 victory. While the result was disappointing, seeing so many young prospects get their first whiff of professional action was a silver lining.
Thankfully for Richie Williams, his regulars should be back following good showings in the Open Cup. Gevork Diarbian actions inadvertently led to back-to-back goals against Rhode Island FC and Chicago Fire. Cristiano Oliveira benefited from Diarbian against Rhode Island as he got on the end of his cross that deflected off the crossbar and slotted home the game-winning goal in the 88th minute. The U.S. Open Cup also saw Liam Butts and Alex Monis make their Revolution debuts while Marcos Dias got more experience with the first team.
Revolution II will use Saturday's match as a chance to overcome their road woes. Their last win on the road came on August 27th, 2023, when they handed Philadelphia Union II a 3-0 loss inside Subaru Park.
Since then, Revs II has gone an abysmal 0-16-2 with two shootout victories. The ongoing road winless streak has also seen Revolution II be outsourced 42-18.
Considering how tight things are starting to get in the Eastern Conference, the club needs to find ways to secure points away from home.
Chattanooga FC:
It’s been an incredible start for Chris Nugent and Chattanooga FC. The independent side enters Saturday’s match atop the Eastern Conference table with 24 points on a 7-1-2 record with one shootout victory.
A big factor in their 2025 success has been their offense. Their 17 goals are tied for the seventh-most in the league. Forwards Keegan Ancelin and Peter Plogumand, and midfielder Daniel Mangarov have been pivotal in the attack as the trio are tied for the most goals on Chattanooga. Defender Tate Robertson has also been pivotal as he leads the club in assists with four.
While the offense is producing, Chattanooga’s defense is just as important to its 2025 success. It’s 10 goals conceded is tied for the fifth-fewest so far this season. Additionally, Chattanooga’s three clean sheets are tied for the second-most in MLS NEXT Pro.
