Revolution Celebrate Peyton Miller Graduating High School
Porter: "It was awesome to have him walk out and see his teammates cheer him on.”
While Peyton Miller wasn’t able to walk at his high school graduation, the momentous occasion was celebrated at the New England Revolution’s training center.
Miller donned his cap and gown in front of his teammates and coaches, who gave the 17-year-old a standing ovation.
“We did our own little graduation ceremony real quick in the locker room,” head coach Caleb Porter said. “It was [assistant coach] Pablo Moreira’s idea. I thought it was pretty cool. It was awesome to have him walk out and see his teammates cheer him on.”
While the Revolution recognize they operate in a results-based business, they also want to acknowledge milestones.
Such was the case for Tomas Chancalay, who just returned from an ACL injury. Players and staff were seen embracing Chancalay after he played 12 minutes against Atlanta United.
“We’re a family,” Porter said. “Obviously, we’re trying to win games, and obviously, it’s a job, but we’re a family. We know our players personally. We have a good bond, very good chemistry in this team. It’s a great locker room. So we celebrate things off the pitch as well.”
