I’ll stick with the Revs because I’m a season member and I’m not a quitter. This said, I have lowered my expectations for this season. Hope is not a strategy so I’m targeting a deep run in the CCC and to sneak into a playoff spot. The team possesses talented players and the ability to acquire more. I’ve attended both CCC games at Gillette and have enjoyed them immensely. Besides, what would we all write about if things were going swimmingly?

I see a lot of positive signs (the play of Chancalay, Esmir, Nacho, ...) to think that they'll get things settled down. Still, they've had some self-inflicted wounds and we still not even sure if we have an MLS-quality goalkeeper.

My reason for sticking with them is I already bought my tickets

Yeah, as a season ticket member as well thats another reason. 16 home games and lots of beer money to go.

Would rather see them winning MLS games than CCC games. Calab and Curt should realize by now we need a striker. Vrioni who I like isn't going to produce like they want and Wood's best days are behind him.

Curious if you guys at TBM have any connections at one of the sports data mines. If you did, I'd like to know how many MLS clubs in the league's history have started the season with three straight losses and still gone on to make the postseason.

Sporting Kansas City started last season with 0 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses in their first 10 games, made the playoffs.

We don't, really, Opta and the like charge a fortune for their data.

I can tell you though that I did look at this and I'm fairly certain none of the Eastern Conference teams who made the playoffs in 2023 started with three losses.

And previous to 2023 isn't as relevant because MLS has had so many different Iterations of playoff qualification.

I take your point though, it's a very bad start. Still, getting into the playoffs is still a strong possibility.

Hope springs eternal. Seriously, though, these are professional athletes. If they can't get themselves up after suffering a bad call, they need some serious work. I get that they've had a tough schedule to start the season, but ...

I get what you're saying, they are paid to play a sport for a living. But they're still humans just like the rest of us and they have physical, mental and emotional limitations.

We all have our work effected by circumstance from time to time but most of us don't work in front of an audience.
