Peyton Miller Called Up To United States Under-20 Team
Miller will join the U.S. U-20s ahead of the upcoming FIFA Under-20 World Cup!
Revolution defender Peyton Miller is returning to the international stage as he was one of 21 players selected by Marko Mitrović to represent the United States Under-20 National Team during the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup. Miller is the youngest player on the roster.
After arriving in Chile, the U.S. will participate in Group E alongside New Caledonia, France, and South Africa. The U.S. kicks off the group stage, taking on New Caledonia on September 29. They’ll face France on October 2nd before wrapping up the group stage on October 5 against South Africa. With a top-two finish, the U.S. will automatically advance to the knockout stage that starts on October 7 and runs through the 19.
Miller’s time with the Revolution has led to him being looked at by the United States. The Unionville, Connecticut native has six appearances for the U.S. U-20s, where he’s notched a goal over 310 minutes of action. Miller also has seven appearances for the U-17s and three for the U-16s.
Depending on how far the U.S. makes it, Miller could miss the final three games of the season. He’ll definitely be out for September 27th’s match against Atlanta and October 4th’s meeting with Miami. A run to the final would also see Miller miss New England’s Decision Day meeting with Chicago on October 18th.
