The New England Revolution faced off against CF Montreal, the last team they were able to beat in MLS competition. Fans at Gillette Stadium left unhappy as the Revs suffered a 3-1 loss.

Head coach Caleb Porter switched things up as New England returned to a 4-2-3-1. Aljaz Ivacic was once again in net while Peyton Miller, Mamadou Fofana, Wyatt Omsberg, and Ilay Feingold made up the backline. Matt Polster and Alhassan Yusuf served as defensive midfielders while Carles Gil was in his usual No. 10 role.

With the change in formation, Tomas Chancalay and Luca Langoni were on the wings while Leo Campana was the lone striker up top. Due to suspension, Brayan Ceballos missed Friday’s match.

But what do you need to know from Friday’s match? Here are three thoughts.
