Maxi Rodriguez has been transferred back to Detroit City after just one year with Rhode Island FC. RIFC will receive an undisclosed fee for the transfer.
“We thank Maxi for his contributions this season and wish him all the best in the future,” RIFC head coach and general manager Khano Smith said in a statement. “We are grateful for the role he played in a successful first season at Centreville Bank Stadium.”
Rodriguez had an up and down season but seemingly found his form towards the ladder stages of the season. He tallied seven goals and four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions and helped RIFC return to the Eastern Conference finals.
