Mamadou Fofana Called Up to Mali National Team
The Bamako native returns to the international stage for a pair of World Cup Qualifiers.
Mamadou Fofana is returning to the international stage, as the defender has been named to the Mali National Team ahead of two World Cup Qualifying matches.
Fofana and Mali will open the September window on the 4th with a meeting against Comoros before facing Ghana on the 8th.
Since making his international debut on October 5, 2017, the Bamako native has tallied one goal in 44 caps for the Mali National Team.
Fofana has been a consistent presence in the Revs lineup since arriving from French side Amiens in the offseason. The 27-year-old has tallied one assist over 25 appearances.
Fofana's call-up comes a day after newcomers Dor Turgeman and Chris Mbaï-Assem received call-ups to their respective national teams.
Friday’s call-up means Fofana will miss the September 6 road match against Chicago.
