Leo Campana Hoping To Celebrate Birthday With Three Points
“All I want for my birthday gift today is dinner with my family and three points tomorrow, and hopefully score. That would be the perfect birthday."
Leo Campana is feeling good after making his seventh straight appearance for the New England Revolution, his longest stretch since joining the club in the off-season.
The striker has dealt with two hamstring injuries during the season, which limited his ability to find a rhythm.
Things have been better recently, as he’s logged four 90-minute performances in 15 days.
“I told everyone at the beginning of the year my priority was to play a lot of minutes and with that the goals will come,” Campana said. “I know my history in the past months has been not good for me, but I think right now I found the perfect balance with the medical staff and with the coaches.”
Campana had a brace against the New York Red Bulls on July 16th, doubling his output in 2025.
He’s confident that more are on the way.
“The goals for me will come, I have no doubts,” Campana said. “I know what I'm capable of. The coaching staff knows that too, so that will come."
When the Revs take the field Friday against CF Montreal, they will be looking for their first win since May 31st. This could jumpstart a playoff push.
“I have confidence in my teammates because I am with them every day almost seven days a week,” Campana said. “I know the potential of our team. The results haven't been good to us, but I know we have good potential and quality players. It’s just matter of time to get one win, and then I know things will change for us."
Friday’s game is extra special for Campana because it comes one day after his 25th birthday.
Campana explained that today he hopes to hang out with his family and have a pasta dinner.
Tomorrow is about something different.
“All I want for my birthday gift today is dinner with my family and three points tomorrow, and hopefully score,” Campana said. “That would be the perfect birthday."
