“I know it's crazy to say this late in the year, but we haven't been able to put a 90 minute-plus performance, a complete performance, together,” Porter said. “We're in every game.”
And whose job is it to have them play for 90?
The 2nd half substitutions were, frankly, offensive just not in the right way. Diaz and Urruti may not have been the answer but at least they would have been better options after the 65" rather than a DM that rarely plays, a CB and a RB. Why is Malcolm Fry on a first team contract if he never makes the game day roster when healthy. Why not give Butts or Dias a run out.
The amount of pressure on the defense is immense when the offense cannot regularly create multiple high quality chances per game and score multiple goals often. That kind of pressure means that game states and possibly the team become brittle. I think there are aspects of the team defending that are worthy of praise and pride, but they are easily lost at the top line review of games based on wins, losses, and goal differential. There haven’t been many games when the brittleness has been more than broken, been shattered, but the frequency of these close losses is piling up. It’s not too late for a meaningful winning streak to impact this season. Any wins at this point would be welcome as long as they aren’t used in the aftermath to paper over the deficiencies in how this roster has performed. I love this team and like our Captain says, I hope we can be in a good way competitively soon!
Next year is the best “soon” you can hope for a turnaround, but this past offseason was a wholesale redo by this management team, and we’ve got zero offense to show for it, and no shot at playoffs. What could go right next year given this coach and GM and the players under contract - a whole new approach to scoring goals? Highly doubtful.
I hate the "we're in every game" nonsense that Porter spouts after every game in an effort to keep his job. I don't pay good money to watch this team lose games by only one goal. Their record shows they are a poor team that has no consistent offense. They are only in "every game" because their defense is above average but none of that matters if you can't score.

One new player, no matter how good they may be, is not enough to make a difference. Porter needs to go.
Changes have to happen we need to get an offense and Porter needs to go. We do have good players but they just don't seem to work with Porters style.
