“A tough call there with the penalty, he’s making a play on the ball. In general, I thought that he made a couple of decent saves, protected the goal well, and was steady.”
I mean what are they gonna say, "yeah our lower-league goalkeeper really screwed us"?
Petrović is a high standard to compare against but he definitely doesn't give up that penalty, almost definitely catches rather than parries Romney's interception, and doesn't let that third ball go right over his shoulder. Worse, though, I'm fairly confident Earl doesn't give up the pen and saves at least one of those two.
Jackson does not belong on the first team. His decision making is really poor as we've seen now in two back to back games, and his shot stopping is mediocre. On top of that it seems like he has real trouble being on the same page as his defenders as seen in the first and second goal.
There's no upside here. These games are not "play the kids" games. These are important games where winning has to come first. You play your best players and if it's not Vaclik it's gotta be Earl.
Go with Edwards for game 2. Vaclik may not be in shape yet. "WPRO’s Tommy Quinlan had a source tell him that Vaclik couldn’t even walk straight. When you combine this with the fact that the whole reason Vaclik was a free agent was due to him failing a medical with AZ Alkmaar." I wouldn't go with him.
It will be absolutely insane if he plays the next game.
You know he will. Peay is a godawful coach who doesn't know what to do with the roster he's been given.

He made two saves and gave up three goals.
