Hearts Sign Norwegian Striker Noah Kvifte
Hearts attack now bolsters a 6' 3" striker to aid in crossed in headers
Noah Kvifte will bring his 6’ 3” frame to the front line of Hearts of Pine. He is coming from Asker Fotball in Norway’s second division, where he scored one goal in seven substitute appearances this season.
Head coach Bobby Murphy mentioned that he was looking at Kvifte in the beginning of the year, and that his profile fits what the Hearts like to do. He now becomes the tallest field player on the Hearts of Pine and will help Titus Washington and Azaad Liadi in the box on set pieces and crosses.
The Hearts have yet to score from a corner kick this year. The big Norwegian will look to aid the Hearts in goals from the air.
While completing his master’s degree in business analytics at Florida Atlantic University last year, he scored an American Athletic Conference-leading eight goals and added two assists, earning him AAC First Team All-Conference honors.
“I’m proud to be part of a club that’s driven by purpose and built for Maine,” said Kvifte. “I’m all in. What drew me to Hearts of Pine was the club’s vision and the way they’re building something special from the ground up. They have, in short time, become a big club rooted in culture and community, and I value the chance to represent something truly meaningful. The way they play fits me well, creating a lot of chances, and I will help convert them into goals.”
The Hearts need a consistent number of goals in the second half of the season if they want to stay in the playoff conversation. We’re entering the business half of the USL League One season where clubs will be looking to position themselves for the playoffs.
Kvifte will hopefully be the missing piece to the Hearts’ aerial attack and can add a new dimension to the Hearts’ attack in the box.
