Danny Barrera has begun the work assembling Hartford Athletic’s USL W side as the club has signed its first three players ahead of its inaugural season.
The club made history on January 5 with the signing of its inaugural player, midfielder Taylor Jenkins.
Jenkins, a Milford native, joins Hartford Athletic after spending the past two seasons at the University of Connecticut, where she tallied a goal and an assist in 23 appearances.
The midfielder’s time with the Huskies saw Jenkins secure 2025 All-Big East Third Team and 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-East Fourth Team honors.
January 6 saw the club make another addition as the club announced the signing of forward Juliana Garcia.
Garcia, a New Haven native, joins Hartford Athletic after spending the last three seasons with Northeastern University, where she tallied a goal in 31 appearances for the Huskies.
Wednesday saw Hartford Athletic make its most recent addition with the signing of midfielder Jocyline Koffi.
Koffi joins Hartford Athletic after captaining the Suffield Academy girls’ soccer team, where she earned All-NEPSAC team and the New England All-Region Team honors while receiving an invitation to the Senior Bowl Game and the WWNEPSSA All-Star Game.
On top of success at the club level, Koffi already has experience at the international level after receiving a call-up to the Ivory Coast Women’s National Team in October of 2025 for 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
While there is still plenty of work for Danny Barrera and Hartford Athletic to do ahead of the inaugural 2026 season, the club has gotten off to a blazing start with the addition of three solid players like Jenkins, Garcia, and Koffi.
