Dor Turgeman To Join Revolution During "Money Time"
Ilay Feingold is excited to reunite with Dor Turgeman.
Ilay Feingold is excited for compatriot Dor Turgeman to join the New England Revolution.
Turgeman, 21, signed with the Revs on Aug. 20 after collecting 32 goals and 10 assists in 114 appearances with Maccabi Tel Aviv FC.
He leaves Israel having won the league twice and the Super Cup once.
“Dor is very, very technical,” Feingold said. “He’s really good, of course, in the offensive side. He’s a goal scorer. He’s strong, he’s fast, and I think he’s a really exciting signing for our team. I’m sure that he will do very good for our team.”
Feingold, also a member of the U-22 Initiative, has adjusted well to Major League Soccer, recording three goals and four assists in 25 appearances (22 starts).
The right back is hopeful that Turgeman will also adapt quickly, as the team is currently nine points below the playoff line.
“I told him, he comes during the money time,” Feingold said. “We really need him. We need him to score goals, to help us.”
Turgeman’s arrival is delayed by international duty. He will have the opportunity to add to his 10 caps when Israel plays Moldova on Sept. 5 and Italy on Sept. 8, both of which are FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers.
This means that Turgeman, who is signed through 2028 with an option for 2029, will miss the Revs’ critical game against the Chicago Fire.
The Revolution play the Fire twice during their final six games of the season.
“I hope that he can help us, and we will still be in the picture of the playoffs,” Turgeman said. “We all really believe we can still do that. We have to wait and see.”
"Money time"? Season is over, man. It's money time for the playoff teams, though.
Please refresh my memory, has he been here practicing with the team since he signed, or will his first practice be (at the absolute earliest) on the 10th? And ready to go on the 13th?
