Dor Turgeman Lone Bright Spot in Massive Miami Loss
“I really liked that he completed a full 90 [minutes] and looked strong from the beginning to the end."
Inter Miami dominated the New England Revolution, but there was a lone bright spot in the night. Dor Turgeman continued to show that he could be the goalscorer that New England has desperately been looking for.
Turgeman scored his second goal of his MLS career in just his second game in the league. While his effort against Atlanta United displayed his ability on the ball and speed, the goal against Miami displayed his skill and power.
The striker managed to nutmeg a defender before blasting a shot into the back of the net. The goal would prove to be the only tally for New England on the day.
“It’s two games and two goals, so the guy [Dor Turgeman] gets goals,” interim head coach Pablo Moreira said. “I really liked that he completed a full 90 [minutes] and looked strong from the beginning to the end. He was a bright spot on the day. You just see what he does in tight spaces, and he makes you pay. He’s a lethal player and we’ve seen that over the last two games. He has two goals and one assist and has contributed in all of our goals. Obviously, he’s someone that we profiled and we hit it on the head with him. We’re really happy with his performance and we just want him to keep going.”
Turgeman is now headed to Isreal National Team duty and will join the squad ahead of FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers. Israel enters October’s European Qualifiers in third place of Group I with a 3-2-0 record through the opening five matches.
Then he will hopefully be able to play a role in the season finale for New England when the Revs welcome the Chicago Fire to Gillette Stadium on October 18.
