Djordje Petrović And Christian Makoun Earn National Team Call-Ups
The Revs players continue to gain attention on the international stage.
Goalkeeper Djordje Petrović and defender Christian Makoun received good news yesterday as the duo earned call-up’s their respective National Teams ahead of some important matches.
Petrović joins his native Serbian National Team for a pair of games, which includes a friendly against Jordan on June 16th at 2:30 PM ET and a 2024 UEFA European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria on June 20th at 2:45 PM ET. There are no words to describe how big of an impact Petrović has had on this 2023 Revolution team.
Through 16 matches, the Serbian keeper has notched 62 saves while only conceding 20 goals. Petrović also flexed his offensive muscle as the keeper has one assist to his name. This marks Petrović’s third call-up to the Serbian National Team.
Makoun joins his native Venezuela ahead of two international friendlies. Venezuela opens the window on June 15th with a friendly against Honduras at 8:00 PM ET. Makoun and Venezuela travel to Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut, to take on Guatemala at 5:00 PM ET.
Despite only making six appearances, Makoun has been a reliable piece for the injury-plagued Revolution. Through his six appearances, Makoun has clocked 385 minutes while notching one assist. Makoun will look to add to his six previous caps with the Venezuelan National Team.
With the call-ups, the duo of Makoun and Petrović may miss some time with the Revolution as the club hosts Orlando City on June 17th and host Toronto FC on June 24th.
