Damorney Hutchinson Feeling Good After Helping Revs II Secure Playoff Berth
Hear what the forward had to say after finding the back of the net on Friday.
Friday’s 2-1 win over Toronto FC II was another dominant display for forward Damorney Hutchinson.
The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he was at the right place at the right time and got on the end of Malcolm Fry’s saved shot and rocketed it into the net to tally his fourth goal of the season.
Following the match, Hutchinson talked to The Blazing Musket about the goal, filling in for an injured Liam Butts, and the mentality of this team. Hutchinson said it felt good to get on the scoresheet, especially when knowing the implications a win would have.
“It’s always good to score a goal for the team,” he said. “Especially knowing that if you win here, you clinch the playoffs. I always aim to go in and just give it my best. It’s really good to get on the scoresheet and getting a win.”
With Butts missing the past two matches due to injury, Hutchinson stepped up to fill the vacant role up top. While getting the start was big for Hutchinson, it didn’t change much about his demeanor.
“Anyone could start up top, so when I get my chance to go in and do what I need to do, I try to give my best,” he said. “It’s been really good.”
One strength of this 2025 Revolution II side has been its confidence. It’s something Hutchinson mentioned when talking about this side’s mentality.
“We go into every game with the mentality of winning and coming out with three points,” the forward said. “It doesn’t matter who we play. We always try to play our game and stick to what we believe in and our playstyle.”
Hutchinson and Revs II will look to build on that mentality when they travel to Icahn Stadium to face New York City FC II.
