Cristiano Oliveira and Josh Macedo Named to MLS NEXT All-Star Roster
The Revs II duo will represent the New England Revolution in Austin during All-Star Weekend!
Wednesday saw Revolution II midfielder Cristiano Oliveira and Academy forward Josh Macedo earn recognition as the duo were selected to represent the New England Revolution in the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game.
After a standout season as an Academy prospect that saw him clock 544 minutes over 10 appearances, Oliveira signed his first professional contract with Revs II ahead of the 2025 season.
His first season on the books has seen the Somerville native make 11 appearances, where he’s notched one goal over 716 minutes.
It also led to Oliveira making his first appearance for the first team. The Revolution’s run in the U.S. Open Cup saw the midfielder appear in both matches.
May 8th’s Open Cup match against Rhode Island FC saw Oliveira net the game-winning goal for New England in the 88th minute. Oliveira went on to start in the May 21st 3-1 loss to the Chicago Fire.
Academy prospect Josh Macedo has made two appearances for Revs II, already accumulating 180 minutes and scoring his first professional goal.
After making his debut in May 18th’s 4-1 loss to Red Bulls II, Macedo made his mark in June 9th’s match against Fire II when his 59th-minute strike helped secure a 2-2 draw.
Oliveira, Macedo, and the rest of the MLS NEXT All-Stars will take the field at Palmer Field in Austin on July 21st at 8:30 PM ET. Fans can watch the MLS NEXT All-Star Game on the MLS website or the league’s YouTube channel.
Nice to see Oliveira and Macedo doing so well
