I wonder how differently the game would have played out if the first Atlanta goal wasn't called back due to a very dubious offside call. I think the Revs got lucky for a change and I wouldn't read too much into this victory. I need to see some consistently good showings before I conclude that things are turning around. Still no goal from the run of play and Langoni demoted to the bench.
This game was much more entertaining and I actually watched the whole thing bc I wasn’t bored out of my mind. I wouldn’t say the revs have been in every game. When you have no attacking presence you are essentially playing for a 0-0 draw every game. I liked this formation change but also am not liking that Langoni was on the bench. He needs to be starting every game.
Statistically we have been and every game has been a 1 goal affair (except the game against Philly with the second goal coming from a stoppage time counter attack) a few lucky bounces or better officiating and things look a lot different. The problem is we need more clinical and decisive play in the attacking 3rd so that we aren't talking about what could have or should have been. Fitness, tactics, and the team having more cohesion will all play a role.
We need to sign a DP striker who knows how to finish. The build up is there, the defense has been getting better with more time to gel but is still making some awful mistakes (my theory is language barriers on the pitch) I really like Miller as a wing back, Feingold is also more suited to the role but still looks like a liability at times (he needs to keep his head down and mouth shut and play harder) I would really like to see Brandon Bye get more minutes over Feingold. If Ganago can find his form (which lets remember Adam Buksa's first MLS season and what came after!) I think we can expect this to turn the corner.
With that said Porter screaming at the guys from the side line is not a good look of a manager that has his shit together. I was actually hoping Atlanta blew us out so we could see Porter out on his ass. If this thing falls together it will definitely because our boys played their hearts out and not because of coaching.

"we've been good, not great" ... Caleb, respectfully, what team are you watching???? The second leading goal scorer is OG.

"we've been in every game"? Well, I guess if you mean "the team played in every game", yes.
