Boston Legacy FC has acquired Amanda Gutierres from Palmeiras for $1.1 million and bonuses, making it the largest sale in Brazilian women’s soccer history.
The Brazilian from Santa Cruz do Monte Castelo, Paraná, signed a pre-contract deal through 2029. She will finish her season with Palmeiras and join the Legacy in January once the 2026 transfer window opens.
Gutierres debuted with Brazil’s senior team at the end of 2024 and has proved herself a stalwart on the field. She represented Brazil in the Copa América Femenina this summer and was the tournament’s joint top scorer with six goals and was also named to the Team of the Tournament.
The forward scored a crucial goal in the final against Colombia, tying the game at the 80th minute, which eventually went to penalties. Her penalty kick helped seal the deal after Brazil scored five over Colombia’s four.
The 24-year-old was a Ballon d’Or nominee this year and the only player on the list that did not play for a European or American club team. The striker finished 21st in global rankings.
At the club level, Gutierres joined Palmeiras in 2023 and has since become the team’s all-time top scorer. She earned the league’s Golden Boot award in 2023 and 2024 and was recognized as one of the league’s top players in her second season. Over her three years at the club, Gutierres has scored 68 goals in 92 appearances.
“We’re delighted to welcome Amanda to Boston Legacy Football Club. She’s a proven goalscorer both domestically and internationally, showing remarkable consistency over the past few years as Brazil’s top scorer,” said BLFC General Manager Domè Guasch. “Her hard work and achievements have been recognized with a Ballon d’Or nomination, and we’re thrilled to bring her winning mentality and relentless work rate to Boston in 2026.”
