BOS Nation FC officially announced its name and brand identity Tuesday with the launch of a new website and campaign video.
The campaign marks BNFC’s addition to the city’s storied sports legacy. The video features Boston athletes such as Tom Brady and Jaylen Brown and proclaims there are “too many balls,” indicating the new team will bring something different than what the city’s sports fans are used to.
“This is an important moment for women’s sports in Boston – and for Bostonians to see that they are fully represented in the team name, brand identity, and even in the tongue-in-cheek tone of the unveil campaign,” said Jennifer Epstein, Controlling Owner of BOS Nation FC.
BOS Nation’s main color will be “Championship Green” and will have “Relentless Raspberry, Loyal Charcoal, Daring Pink, Rise Yellow and Orange Press” as accent colors. The colors are a nod to Boston’s resilience and tenacity, and the diversity of the city’s neighborhoods, per the team’s press release.
The team has yet to unveil its logo, but merchandise with the new name and colors replaced previous NWSL Boston items on the team store.
The new team name, an anagram for “Bostonian,” received backlash from residents and NWSL fans prior to its official announcement.
Fans can place season ticket deposits on the team’s website, and have the option to choose from supporter, general, and club seating, with prices ranging from $26 to $100. Seat selection will begin in the fall of 2025, per the website.
The team will host a fan celebration on Tuesday night, and will have Mayor Wu, former USWNT player Sam Mewis, and Olympic champion Aly Raisman in attendance.
Terrible branding. Yuck. They couldn't stop laughing about it on the Golazo Network this morning. Embarrassing
