Thanks for covering this.

> advocating for or against any candidate, political party, legislative issue, or government action” is prohibited.

What is "salute to heroes" night then?

What is the national anthem before every game?

Or, the ROTC swearing in at halftime of the last game?

Ironically the same game saw a group of young men and women take an oath to protect our country and uphold our constitution, something their commander in chief is actively and brazenly defying and dismantling. The hypocrisy is astonishing, welcome to the fascist states of america.

Thank you for covering this. "United in defiance" of who/what exactly, dear Revs? Of course, this is a marketing slogan, and given the current record of the team, not sure it's doing its job.

Am I reading it right that the Revs FO says the fans were *not* asked to leave but the fans said TeamOps asked them to leave or face disinvite?

Ben, you know multiple fans involved in this. Whom do you think is lying, the team or those fans, whom, again, you know personally?

I didn't know I knew the people – I'm out of the loop up here in the Great White North. But either way, I knew which narrative I trusted – it's just good to be clear about what's happening here.

So it's ok for the team to have a ROTC? swearing in ceremony at halftime, which is a thinly veiled recruitment effort (which is therefore political). But when fans want to make a statement, the team puts it's foot down.

How long until the team bans pride flags?

I empathize with the banner and the fan, but by the same token, I'm glad that 3 years ago a guy with a Trump banner was told to take it down and when he became combative, they ejected him.

I don't know but I think maybe there's a difference between advocating *for* a human rights abuser and for someone whose human rights are abused.

As a society we're obsessed with applying the constitutional concept of "free speech" in areas where it doesn't apply, and this is one of them. This was a private business decision and not a legal one, and the business has no legal obligation to treat antifascism the same as it treats fascism and the humans within it actually have a moral obligation not to.

Thank you guys for this article. I'm glad this isn't just being ignored which you could have easily done.

I’m glad the Blazing Musket is covering this, in a very respectful and humane way.

For the protestor, they should know they have support from some Revs fans for the content of their banner.

However, this is a surveillance and security society, and pro sports is corporate to its core. The student is not coming back. Protests that involve such dehumanization and victimhood are futile.
